Ripon Family History Project
The Centre receives many enquiries relating to Family History, and offers specialist advice and some resource material.
In providing this service it works closely in conjunction with Ripon Historical Society and the County Library where a wealth of resource material is available.
Apart from the resource books in the Publications List we have available for consultation transcripts on microfiche:
Parish Registers:
Ripon Minster (Cathedral from 1836) from the 1570′s to 1855 baptisms, 1881 burials, and 1837 marriages.
Those for the baptism and burials at the various chapels of the Ripon parish from their separation in the 19th century to 1900. Earlier events were recorded in the Ripon registers.
Kirkby Malzeard baptisms and burials 1653 – 1900, marriages 1653 – 1840.
Baptisms and burials for Dallowgill and Mickley 1840 – 1900, Grewelthorpe 1850 – 1900.
Recordings of Monumental Inscriptions for all churches above and for Ripon Cemetery.
A large number of census transcriptions.
