Volunteers Day - A Success!
Following the success of our Volunteers Morning, we are now training our willing helpers ready for opening very soon.
If you feel you can give us a little of your time, we are holding volunteer sessions each Wednesday afternoon in November, 2pm, at the centre. Watch this space for more details regarding our Grand Opening.
Ripon Local Studies Research Centre
The object of the Centre is to research the local history, family history and archaeology of Ripon and its surrounding area; to publish the results of such research and to make it available through publications, exhibitions, seminars, conferences and on the internet; also to encourage and assist members of the public in research.
The Centre is a storage facility of copies of local archival material and reference books, leaflets, pamphlets, maps and photographs, but is also a drop-in for anyone wishing to find out information on the City of Ripon or their family history.
The Centre is staffed by a team of dedicated volunteers who are always willing to offer advice and help to researchers looking for information. We need more volunteers to make sure that advice and help is available Monday to Friday from 10am to 4pm.
Can you help by giving a few hours a week? If you can please contact Sue Hughes on 01765 692200 or email us at:
